La cantina de la Azienda Agraria Cantonale di Mezzana
(AACM) presenta una arquitectura que combina la belleza de unas fachadas exteriores
de clara factura ticinesa y unos espacios interiores caracterizados por salas
diáfanas. La intervención mantiene
y preserva su belleza interior de la cantina, al tiempo que la convierte en una máquina
perfecta para la adecuada producción de vino. La
ampliación está directamente
vinculada a la reorganización de la topografía
y del paisaje de la parte frontal de la cantina. Entendemos que, una vez
demolido el pabellón adyacente, esta ampliación debe ser un cuerpo invisible
que ponga en valor el paisaje circundante de viñas y la arquitectura del
edificio original. Por ello, se concibe esta ampliación como un contenedor
eficiente que forma parte de la plataforma frontal pero no se ve desde ella,
dejando el paisaje de viñedos libre para la vista y disfrute de los visitantes
y empleados de la propia cantina. La ampliación es una sala rectangular diáfana
de temperatura y humedad constante circundada por una cámara
en su perímetro,
abierta al paisaje en su parte frontal y comunicada con el edificio existente
en su parte posterio.
The winery of the Azienda Agraria Cantonale di Mezzana (AACM) represents an architecture that combines the beauty of traditional Ticinese facades with interior spaces characterized by diaphanous rooms. The intervention maintains and preserves the beauty of the winery, while it converts the building into an effective wine production machine. The extension is directly linked to the reorganization of the topography and landscape of the frontal part of the cellar. We understand that, once the adjacent pavilion has been demolished, this extension functions like an invisible body that highlights the surrounding landscape of vineyards and the architecture of the original building. Therefore, this extension works as an efficient container that is part of the frontal platform but can not be seen from it. It enables a view towards the landscape of vineyards and allows the visitors and employees to enjoy the cellar. The building’s extension is a rectangular and diaphanous room, surrounded by a sequence smaller spaces, that holds a constant temperature and humidity. It is open to the landscape in its frontal part and communicates with the existing building on the back.
